Vassilis G. Pavlopoulos

Vassilis Pavlopoulos graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology (major in Psychology), University of Athens (1992). He conducted a doctoral dissertation in Social Psychology and received his Ph.D. from the Department of Psychology of the same university (1998, scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation).

Since 2004, he has been a full member of the teaching staff at the Department of Psychology, University of Athens, at the positions of Lecturer (2004-2008) and Assistant Professor (2009-present) of Cross-Cultural Psychology. He teaches Cross-Cultural and Social Psychology courses to undergraduate and graduate (Master's) students. He also acts as supervisor of diploma theses and Ph.D. dissertations on subjects of his specialty. He coordinates the degree thesis seminar and the supervised practice committee of the Department of Psychology.

He has participated in more than 20 research projects in collaboration with international institutes and national organizations. Some of these programs were funded by the European Union and national resources. He has published more than 40 papers in English and in Greek in the form of journal articles or book chapters. His current research interests focus on acculturation and psychosocial adaptation of immigrants, perceived discrimination, beliefs about justice, cross-cultural study of values, and the cultural correlates of behavioral intentions.
